The 10 Most Dangerous Intersections in Glendale, According to Two Years of ADOT Data
Published October 4, 2026
Glendale holds a difficult distinction in the Metro Phoenix Dangerous Intersections Study, the two-year ADOT-data analysis published by our sister outlet AZ Crash Data: the deadliest single surface intersection in the region sits inside the city. Here are Glendale's ten highest-crash intersections for 2023-2024, exactly as the study ranks them.
Glendale
| Rank | Intersection | Crashes | People injured | Deaths | |---|---|---|---|---| | 1 | 67th Ave & Olive Ave | 76 | 52 | 0 | | 2 | Bethany Home Rd & Grand Ave | 71 | 17 | 0 | | 3 | 75th Ave & Camelback Rd | 69 | 42 | 1 | | 4 | 51st Ave & Olive Ave | 66 | 38 | 0 | | 5 | 59th Ave & Olive Ave | 60 | 21 | 0 | | 6 | 51st Ave & Camelback Rd | 56 | 41 | 0 | | 7 | 59th Ave & Northern Ave | 56 | 36 | 0 | | 8 | 67th Ave & Glendale Ave | 51 | 37 | 1 | | 9 | 83rd Ave & Bell Rd | 51 | 14 | 0 | | 10 | 59th Ave & Bethany Home Rd | 49 | 27 | 0 |
What stands out in the Glendale data
- Olive Avenue appears three times in the top ten — at 67th, 51st, and 59th Avenues — and the 67th & Olive crossing leads the city in both crashes (76) and people injured (52). When one street anchors a third of a city's list, the pattern usually says something about the corridor itself.
- The region's deadliest intersection is also Glendale's — the study separately identifies 47th Ave & Northern Ave, with three deaths over the two years, as the deadliest single surface intersection in all 23 cities analyzed. It sits just outside this crash-count top ten, a reminder that the deadliest crossings and the busiest-crashing crossings are not always the same places.
- Grand Avenue's diagonal geometry shows up at #2: Bethany Home & Grand is one of the Valley's classic multi-leg crossings, where the diagonal creates longer exposure through the intersection.
Reading this as a driver
Knowing where crashes concentrate can inform small habits that cost nothing: a generous gap before any unprotected left on Olive, extra attention at the Grand Avenue diagonals, and an extra beat on fresh greens along the 51st-to-67th Avenue grid match what the data shows.
